Your duties as a ‘psych-tech’ follows taking considerations of basic care, comfort and safety of patients admitted on the psych unit or department. Additionally, here you will have to interact with mentally ill/retarded patients, assist the therapy groups, help to ensure a safe and secure environment and help patients emotionally to address their sickness for quick healing.

As a emergency room technician
If you believe yourself as a multi-task handling person, then an emergency room technician job can suit you. Here you have to function on multiple issues at same time in a fast paced manner. ER techs take vital signs, transport patients, draw blood, perform EKGs, assist procedures in the emergency department and communicate other departments of hospital on need.
As a care attendant
CNAs are also hired as care attendants in many group homes that house developmentally disable adults. Here the job duties include supervision of patients in everyday household chores, leisure activities, meals and exercise workouts since many clients of these types of group homes cannot help themselves. As a care attendant, you may also have to arrange various trips of patients for doctor’s appointment, ballgames, outings, picnics, shopping trips and so on.
CNAs are also hired as attendant for physically handicapped children. Being a personal care attendant, you need to assist them during their class time (for the children who can attend schools), lunch time, bathroom and leisure activities or playtime.
